Coming of age blog
Hey girlie!! Puberty. It sucks. I went through the worst of it, and am here yo help you!! Thankfully for you, I have learned a lot throughout my early teenage years (despite the amnesia) and can pass it down to you.
school
My best tips I have for school are to be nice to teachers, be nice to classmates, even when you don't like them. You never know when you might be in a group with them and they decide to dump all the work on you because they had a grudge. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. That has helped me sooo much. Let that sink in. Take it to heart. I know you've heard it before, but really listen this time. Putting things off, especially note-taking and studying, reaaally hurts you in the long and short run. Don't just study the day before the test. Study the day you're given the materials the hardest, and progressively study lighter. DON'T BE AFRAID TO TALK TO TEACHERS OR ME IF YOU NEED HELP!!!
Self-Care
This is gonna be long so each different topic will be in a different color. <3
SKINCARE
Cetaphil works WONDERS!!! I use their daily facial cleanser and daily facial moisturizer with spf 15. For a once or twice a week pore cleasning mask I use the Aztec Clay one. MAKE SURE TO MOISTURIZE AFTER AND WASH BEFORE!!! No matter what you do at some point during puberty you will have a bad acne phase. Lip scrubs are great!! I noticed brand or even homemade doesn't matter much, as long as it scrubs, it gets the job done. The chapstick that works best for me is burt's bees and aquafor lip repair for a lip mask. If you shave/wax your face like I do (I shave my mustache and shape my eyebrows with a trimmer) moisturizing after is soooo important!! Once it looked like I had a hitler stache because I had a bad square rash above my lip after shaving my mustache and forgetting to moisturize. Yikes!
BODILY CARE
Armpits stink! Remember to put on deodorant in the morning, after showering, and before bed. This is how I personally take showers, if you wanna follow my footsteps that is more than welcome!: take your body scrub and wash your armpits with it. Then shave your armpits. Then wash your armpits. Then your whole body as you usually would. Then take your scrub and scrub your feet, elbows, in between your thigh area (NOT IN YOUR VAGINA OR VULVA!!! NEVER PUT ANYTHING BUT WATER UP THERE OR YOU'LL GET A YEAST INFECTION ), and stretch mark areas. Then wash your hands because you'll be washing your hair next, and your hands are gross from touching your feet. Wash your hair as usual, leaving in your conditioner for at least a minute. They say that's just a rumor but I swear it makes my hair softer. I recommend only conditioning your hair twice a week unless you have very thin hair. REMEMBER TO LOTION AFTER SHOWERING!!! Peeing when you need to pee is actually really important or you might get a UTI. Getting in the sun everyday for 30-60 minutes is really important. Low vitamin D levels have been shown to correlate with low seratonin (happy chemical) levels. So basically more sun = more happy. I can attest to that personally. Also excercise releases dopamine!! Crunches along with a healthy diet are great for loosing weight. I've personally lost 40 pounds so far, so contact me if you need help!! Megan thee Stallion, Flo Milli, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande's music are great confidence boosters and pick me up and work out music. The Beatles have something for everything, just tell me your specific mood and I'll give ya a song.
PERIODS AND DOWN THERE
Periods SUCK. Try your best to stay nice and friendly even though you're in pain. Cups > tampons > pads, but to each their own! Cups aren't as scary as they seem, I promise!! You can leave them in for up to 12 hours, so its nice that you can just forget about your period for a while. DO NOT compare your bits to a pornstar's. They probably had surgery on it. I'm being for real. Some plastic surgeons will do surgery on the vulva. Also, sorry about this girlie, but I sadly don't know how to shave down there without razor bumps wrecking havoc. I know bikini season is coming up, I know. So far here is what I've found out: only shave with the hair, use shaving cream, exfoliate before, and I'm going to try to see if using witch hazel as an aftershave helps and I'll update the blog if it does work!!
SOCIAL TINGS
How do I make friends? How do I get a lover? How do I figure out my sexuality? These are valid questions you may be asking at your age!! Making friends isn't a piece of cake. You have to put effort into it. Join a club! Talk to people before and after class! Sit at a new table at lunch! Now. The next thing to tackle. Lovers. Boyfriends. Girlfriends. Whatever you prefer, girlie. This is tough. I say go for it if you like them and you have somewhat of a relationship. Like, it doesn't have to be flirty or romantic, but that definitely helps. All that matters is that you know of each other positively. My boyfriend and I personally had a sorta flirty "I hate you" "kisses you" thing going on before we started dating, but I thought I was a lesbian before LMAO. Also, guys are suuuper self conscious. Anything you say will last whether it be positive or negative. That will also affect how they view you for a while. NEXT TOPIC. Sexuality. Yikey. I personally say don't worry about it!! I don't label myself, I know I'm not straight, and I know I'm not gay!! And that's perfectly okay!! I previously thought I was a lesbian until I started dating my boyfriend, which is when I started to realize labels don't matter much. What do I do if someone doesn't like me or I don't like them? Feuds and arguments are bound to happen. You cannot avoid negative social interaction, so don't let it get to you. Let the positive interactions stick with you. If you don't like someone in a romantic way, do not tell them you do or go out with them. THAT HURTS BOTH OF YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!!! If you're mad at someone, try to communicate why you're mad at them with them in a calm matter, so that they can improve, or at least be aware of the problem.
FASHION
By far the second most fun part of being a young girl (first being romance). First we'll talk about perfume. If you know anything about me, you'll know I'm a perfume enthusiast. My signature scent right now is Rose roll on by Blossom because I got it at Five Below LMAOOOO. I also alternate it with Twisted Peppermint from Bath n Body Works. I'm going to be testing out some new perfumes, though, so watch out!! Next is makeup. The Darkness K.ma 9 lashes on Amazon are AMAZING!!! Physician's Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl is what I use for highlighter personally. I usually only put a little on the tip of my nose and corners of my eyes. Also keep in mind I am pale!! Like very pale!! I don't use foundation or concealer. The Wet N Wild Break Up Proof retractable gel Eyeliner is WOW!! In a good way, too!! I also use their Mega length mascara because it's cheap and gets the job done, and it's the wand type I prefer. L.A. Colors Brow Pomade is great! I use soft brown. I get most of my make up at Five Below, save for lashes and glue. I personally do thin brows. I'll actually attach an image of my makeup. (I'm not wearing lashes in this pic)

Finding your look takes lots and I stress this LOTS of practice. Eyeliner is hard. I'm not gonna sugar coat it. Brows don't have to be exact, actually that's a bit creepy when they are. They just have to resemble similarity. Always chapstick before lipstick. Colourpop has great cheap eyeshadow pallettes. I love the sailor moon one! I also have one of the blushes from that collection and it's my fav, though I don't often use blush. LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST... CLOTHES AND SHOES!! Nice clothes pay back!! Nice clothes pay back! Nice clothes pay back. I know this is hypocritical coming from a shein shopper, but I'll shop quality once I get a job. My shein clothes are cute, but, my nice clothes are cuter. They last longer, are better material, and have more reliable sizing info. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY SHEIN SHOES. ALWAYS SPEND AT LEAST $50 ON A PAIR OF SHOES IF YOU CAN. You want shoes that will last. You want arch support. You want quality in shoes. Listen to me on this one. No one likes ingrown toe nails, foot fungus, and sprained ankles.
